HOW OUR PROJECT WAS BORN
It all started in October 2006 when some of us made up their minds to register on a specialized site to find European partners willing to work on a Comenius project. The first contacts were between Romania and France, who decided to work on environmental issues. Four other countries then joined in : Italy, Spain, England and Bulgaria.
The second step was our preparatory visit in Buzau, Romania, in January 2007. We all met there to choose our topic and start filling in the application forms together. Once back home, we worked hard on the application forms to be ready to submit them by March 2007.
Then started the never-ending process of waiting for the answer of each national agency. We eventually got the good and …bad news by the end of summer 2007. Four countries out of six only were indeed accepted. Italy and Romania were unfortunately rejected for financial reasons, which was really heart-breaking, especially for the Romanian teachers who had started it all and were supposed to coordinate the project. We therefore had to find a new coordinator and France was selected. But we still had to wait for the official answer of the European agency. It did come in October 2007, at last ! We now have 2 years to carry out our ambitious project. No doubt it will be a lot of work. But we all hope it’s worth it !
